Project Brief

Location: Chislehurst, Bromley

This newly extended home had a vast living room, bifold door leading to the garden and a media unit put in by the builders. Although it was a great space, once the contractors were finished our clients weren’t sure how to make the most of this room. They wanted to bring this together in an elegant way and make it a cosy and practical room for the family.

Goal: Create a living room that allows the family to watch movies together, play boardgames on the floor and have a quiet space for reading when the children are in bed. This family also wanted to commission a bespoke piece of art but they didn’t know where it would be best placed, the size and shape they should go for to tie the scheme together.

Practical requirements: Create additional lighting to set the mood in the evenings as they only have spotlights. Add storage for boardgames, incorporate the grey single chair they already had given it was in great condition and bring in real plants.

Design: We created a living room fit for a growing family. This space is modern with an injection of our clients’ favourite deep blue colour. We made this practical for their children and friends to use. We designed the room with the art as a showstopper and created a quiet and low light nook for reading and that important morning coffee. Now this is a cosy room that works for the entire family with multiple functions.
