Project brief
Location: Waterloo, London – Evelina Hospital
This small room was assigned to the psychologist and play therapist of the ward to use for various therapy. It needs a complete design that would allow them to carry out their work with ease and effectiveness.
Goal: Create a therapy room that caters for children from 0 to 18 as well as their family members. This room needed to be used for talking, drawing and playing therapy so many practical needs were asked to be met.
Practical requirements: Storage for material to be used during sessions, enough seating for families to come in together. Keep to the ward theme of create a room that had the look and feel of a cosy ski lodge. Keep the flooring.
Design: We designed a room that looked and felt like a lodge ensuring this wasn’t too young or too old. We create smart and hidden storage in places that are discreet. This room is now being used by many patients and their families all year around as opposed to receiving therapy by bedside in shared wards.
